Capacitor plague

TOR: My husband is beta testing The Old Republic. I'm not an MMO person (I'll play TOR because it's Star Wars, not because I play well with others), but he is, and he's impressed by what he's played so far. What I can say is that it's gorgeous and the voice acting is top-notch, well worth the necessity of defiling my own MacBook Pro with Windows when the time comes.

Also, I'm enjoying being the font of all Star Wars knowledge for H and his friends. Yeah, H has a cool wife. ;)

TV: Our main TV is slowly expiring of capacitor plague, which sounds like a virus for killing toaster!Cylons. Of course it's something that doesn't show up while the warranty is still in effect. Hmph! It took over two hours to get it to turn on this morning, so we bowed to the inevitable and I researched and ordered a new one. Same size as the old one, but this one is LED backlit, has built-in WiFi, and can play Amazon instant video (which our Apple TV and PS3 cannot).

This means we'll be canceling Netflix - once one of my favorite companies but these days a continual source of annoyance - and since we are already Amazon Prime members, the Amazon video won't be costing us anything extra. Netflix and its limited streaming catalog and ever-dwindling (and soon to be spun off to the idiotically named Qwikster) selection of DVDs can suck it.

BBT: If I had known that The Big Bang Theory fandom was such a prolific and reliable source of well-written apocafic and virgin-male hetfic (both of which I love as cats love catnip, just with slightly less drooling and writhing around on the floor), I would have checked out the show ages ago. I can't think of the last time a fandom so closely conformed itself to both many of my bulletproof kinks and my preferred noncanon ship. Catnip, I tell you!
