Migraine 1, New Year's Eve 0

Dec 31, 2010 21:41

For the first time in ten years (now that H has finally switched his business from a calendar year to a fiscal year), we were going to go out on New Year's Eve. Yet here we are at home, watching a not particularly good movie starring the very pretty Michael Fassbender as a Roman legionary, rather than out at our friends' party, because I woke up at 5:30 a.m. with a migraine. Yay?

I generally get only one migraine a year, usually in late November or December, but I thought I'd managed to escape it for once until this one squeaked in right under the wire. Must have slept right through the usual ocular warning signs and only awakened when the queasiness and pain began. No booze for me today, just Excedrin Migraine. Pffft!

I should feel well enough by tomorrow for our traditional New Year's fondue dinner (Irish Cheddar and Stout Fondue this year, with apples and steamed potatoes, cauliflower, and Brussels sprouts instead of bread cubes) and Champagne, so I am looking forward to that at least.
