It's one of those days. You know, the ones on which you feel that certain segments of fandom - whether or not they ship as you do (the real divide as I see it is not between different ships, but between the overly invested and those who keep a sense of proportion/humor) - need a good smack upside the head with the mighty cluestick of "YOU ARE NOT YOUR SHIP. IT IS NOT AN ATTACK ON YOUR PERSONAL ESSENCE WHEN SOMEONE SHIPS DIFFERENTLY FROM YOU. BEFORE YOU BITCH ABOUT THE 'ENEMY,' CONSIDER WHETHER YOU/YOUR 'SIDE' ARE BEHAVING EQUALLY BADLY - BECAUSE YOU PROBABLY ARE."

Then I realized it wouldn't do any good, but I felt better anyway because I'm a crotchety old bitch. (Also, fandom_wank would be a lot less amusing without shipwars.)
