1) *looks around blearily* I got up an hour or two earlier than usual because the satellite tech said he'd be back "in the morning" to do the work he couldn't do yesterday due to lack of a crucial part. I hate mornings. They're best slept through. He hasn't arrived yet anyway.
[ETA: The tech showed up, but apparently the proper mount either doesn't exist or he can't get one for some reason, so he has to build one from scratch and come back tomorrow. So I'll be waiting around at home all day tomorrow, too. Gah!]
2) So how did Skiffy let the Brits start getting BSG before us again this week? I don't know whether to dump some tea in a harbor or get out a torch and a pitchfork and head on over to Skiffy headquarters. Maybe both? No, can't spare the tea - I need the caffeine today. So, anyone else for forming an angry mob?
I'm going to wait for BSG to air here on Friday, by which time I will have Sci Fi HD on the new satellite receiver. It's worth it to wait for HD, and because I never did like watching TV on my computer.
3) I was hoping BBC America would be among the new HD channels we'll be getting, but apparently not. The Smithsonian Channel, which doesn't have a standard-def simulcast, sounds interesting, and I'm looking forward to having A&E, History, and National Geographic in HD, since we watch those a lot.
4) After replacing our DVD player with a PS3 and our old 1080i TV with one that can display 1080p, we can finally watch Blu-ray discs. Of course, we don't actually have any to try out. So I need to buy something in Blu-ray and I can't decide what. I'm not going to bother replacing most of my DVD collection with Blu-ray - just my favorites. Hmm. LOTR isn't out yet. Neither is BSG. Okay, Terminator 2 is only $12.95. Sold!
