TM Prompt 209 - What are you afraid of? v2.
ooc: What is happening to Toad after Pyro betrays the Brotherhood. Pyro, for his part, has no idea this is what is going to happen to Toad.
Toad comes to, very slowly. He hears noises, an engine running, and feels the vibration of movement around him. A vehicle. He's in a moving vehicle.
A couple voices, every once in a while, but very low. He can't tell who they are, but he doesn't think he knows them.
He remembers, slowly - visions in mute grey, slowly coming to life, gaining colour with each second, becoming more and more vivid...
An attack. Avalanche goes down. Magneto does down.
Pyro, off to the side, sullen face, flames afire - standing not only to the side, but opposite. Opposite.
Toad attacks and slings out his tongue, clocks Pyro upside the head. Misses ringing his neck, misses wrapping his tongue around it and crushing the bone with the strong muscle. Tries again, but then Toad goes down too.
And now, forced down, spread out and handcuffed to a bench. Metal handcuffs. Magneto's not here.
Slowly, eyes open. Look around. Light hurts, and things look blurry, but he sees two men with guns. He automatically goes to attack, makes to snap his tongue out, and hopefully snap them.
Tip of the tongue hits plastic, barrier around his mouth. Green Hannibal Lector.
Guard notices him, and laughs. Flicks his cigarette butt at Toad's green skin, and Toad thinks about how he'll kill Pyro.
Malicious smile. "Welcome back to WeaponX, mutie."
And, finally, fear grips Toad's heart.
