Poor Little Guy

Just when I thought that I'd have nothing more to write about in here, out springs a new problem.

First, however, a little rewinding is in order.

Two weeks ago, give or take: woke up with a sharp pain in the back of my calf, major ouch whilst walking about. Figured I had just pulled a muscle in my sleep, so I thought nothing of it and painfully carried on my daily tasks. The next day, the pain was still there, but it had subsided a bit. Day after that, the pain was just a dull sensation if I walked too much, nothing more. The next two days, all was well.

Then, however, shit started acting quite oddly. For a week or so, my foot would start to fall asleep at the least little thing; put my foot up on the bed railing to tie the ol' shoes, foot falls asleep... cross my legs whilst interwebbing, asleep again. Of course, my foot isn't normally like this, but I thought nothing of it and expected it to pass in time.

Two days ago, I woke up to find my leg completely numb from the knee downwards. Maybe I slept awkwardly, thought I. No sir, stayed like that throughout the day. Felt like my foot had just fallen asleep, minus the pins and needles, extended up to the knee, and just tolerable enough to hobble around on. Definitely not fun, no ma'am.

Yesterday, woke up and it was still like that. This can't be good, so I thought that maybe walking on it a bit would help things out some, get the blood flowing or whatever. Seeing that I needed to mail off a Netflix return on this day, I decided to just hoof it down to the local mailbox instead of tagging along with father into town.

A little geography lesson for those (everyone) who doesn't know how my 'hood is configured. My house is right here, followed by eight-ten houses down the street. There's a turn in the road, which leads us to another street. Think of the letter H, and my house would be on the bottom right corner of said letter, houses all up and down the right and left side, and the mailbox would be on the upper left side. It's not really a long walk, takes about ten minutes on a normal round-trip walking.

Started my journey down the street, got to the turn in the road (two minutes into the trip), no problems. Rounded the corner, and the leg started acting quite shitty. It felt as though my knee was going to bend backwards, due to the numbness getting worse now. I decided to press onwards anyway, and made it to the mailbox. Much pain, was I in. Much numbness, had my leg and foot. I limped my sorry ass back home, popped some pain medication, collapsed into the bed, and slept for about fourteen hours. Here I sit now, with my leg now throbbing in pain in addition to the numbness. This is indeed gayer than a pack of Muslims. Good job, self.
