PAF

Sunset is getting a little later, so there was time for a few quick geocaches after work. Not that these would've been impossible to do at night since both are just off parking lots. This evening, I went for PAF One and PAF Too. In the world of geocaching, PAF stands for "Phone A Friend", which is what one can do if one is stumped at a cache site and knows someone who has already found it and can provide a hint. Naturally, both "PAF" geocaches are hidden on payphone stands. The funny part is neither location had a payphone. I guess people don't use those any more, so payphones that break aren't replaced. So all that's left is the structure where it used to be.

Yesterday was a windy day. I went to the new Save-A-Lot at Penn Mart Shopping Center for another batch of pot pies. As is customary for this supermarket, I carried the groceries out in a cardboard box. The wind blew the box right out of my hands! Fortunately, nothing was lost. I got everything back, including the box. When I got home, I noticed that my trash can, which I'd left out by the curb for trash pickup in the morning, was missing. I looked around on my street and found it across the street and one house over. (I knew it was mine because I recognized the serial number.) What probably happened is the wind blew it onto the road and then the neighbors moved it to the sidewalk for safety. I also noticed a loose piece of siding that came down because of the wind. I wedged it back where it belonged but I probably need to attach it more firmly somehow.
