Fucking great afternoon today. My grandmother has given me her old
standard 8 movie projector, and with it ever home movie in her
possession. Were talking about an absolute shit load of reals, at least
20. Theres alot of really interesting stuff from when my mom was a kid,
I really think she made a great little kid, she was kind of short and
wore glasses, and wanted to be a cowgirl. It was really great to watch
some of these movies with her, she was the most enthused Id seen since
she had her hear attack (afterwich she gave up smoking and took up
drinking.) I really felt like I bonded with her today. We also watched
footage of her as a teenager in the 60s, she was oftly cute mind you.
Then I started looking through some of the unlabled reels. I put one on
and it was in black and white, I realized that this was footage of my
grandfather (who died before I was born) as a teenager in the 30s, the
film is in remarkably good condition for being nearly 70 years old. Im
really estatic about getting all of these home movies, partially
because im an absolute freak for film, but mostly because I know im
going to treasure these throughout my life. It gives me a sense of
connection to my moms family (which has always made me feel awkward to
say the least).
My great friend Alex stopped by today, he had a newly recorded song he wanted to show me. MAN THIS IS A FUCKING GREAT SONG! Iv just listened to it 13 times in a row. ALEX TOMIC IS A GENIUS, THIS SONG NEGATES ANYTHING ALL NEGATIVE FEELINGS OF THE LAST WEEK.
