The Male Me.

My cousin Leslie popped up to chat with me this morning to tell me that she had "met" my male equivalent. It was through the dating site PlentyofFish, and he lives up in Atlanta. I guess they chatted, either on the phone or online, and he kinda skeeved her out, to use her phrase. I had a really good laugh when she reported that she told him they couldn't date because it would be like dating her cousin...who's a girl. Apparently he didn't like that, and I can't really blame him. Who wants to be told that they are un-date-able because they remind someone too much of a relative, esp. if that relative is of the opposite gender?

I read his profile, as Leslie supplied me with a link, and I kinda agreed with her assessment. Yeah, what he wrote sounded a lot like something I would say, but not in a public forum... He sounded a bit like a poser, actually. Even if he was on the up-and-up, he would NOT have been a good match for Leslie.

I love my cousin, she's wonderful and outgoing and outrageous, but we're two very different people with very different values. Last year she suggested that I move out to Orlando and she, myself, and one of her friends could get a house together. I smiled at the idea and paid some kind of lip service to the idea. That would never work. We'd kill each other in a month. At any rate, the point is now moot as she was kicked out of the house she was in and now lives in Georgia.

Oy vey.
