Friday morning traffic not so bad. Friday work head wall rinse lather repeat. Friday going home not horrendous. K and I both worked late so we ended up meeting at claim jumpers for late night happy hour for dinner and to watch the end of the angels game. Oh gods, don't mention the "T" word, please!

It's the start of the summer holidays. People who normally drive about two miles every day are suddenly loading their cars up with all their worldly possessions and getting onto the motorways to drive distances of around 400 miles in one go. They are driving on roads where the average speed is usually 70mph, in a car that handles differently from normal (often towing a caravan).

They have no idea what lane they should be in and are pootling along at 50 with a two mile queue behind them in the "fast" lane (Right hand in this particular part of the world)!

And the service areas are totally crammed!

When I talk about the 60 freeway, it is one of the two freeways leaving the LA basin(population somewhere over 6 million) to the east heading to Arizona, Nevada and thus The Colorado River. Combined with a major north south artery. Yeah particularly when I talk about Friday traffic or preholiday traffic we are talking about full on getaway traffic.
