03 ∉ Being one-handed makes things complicated [voice]

So are we all quite done making out with ice blocks and other such similar ridiculousness? Yes. Good.

As some of you may recall, Topher found a cow. [A pause. She really can't believe any of this in a way.] We kept it, and it does apparently give...strawberry flavored milk ( Read more... )

Huh. There must be a calf out there in the wild, then, if she can give milk.

Oh God, don't tell me that. So now I have to go look for a baby cow. Somewhere. Great.

Well, it's either look for a calf, or milk her twice a day~ Even then, it's no guarantee she'll keep producing. Though, why anyone would want to do that is beyond me...

I can't really milk a cow one-handed, that's the current problem. [Sighing.] Because...there's not an overabundance of food here?

If you wanted more food, you can just kill the cow an have meat. -=practical is practical.=-

I'd be in the same boat, if I milked mine. -=And he's NEVER, EVER GOING TO, THANK YOU VERY MUCH=-

It'd be easier to grow and hunt for food rather than try to get secretions from a cow.

Well, yes, but I don't think any of us are equipped to deal with that. I'm pretty sure we'll just keep the cow, for now. How come you haven't killed yours?

Oh? Really?

[A pause.] Growing is one thing, or at least gaining access to the orchards is one thing. But I'm worried about calcium and protein intake and general nutrition issues such as those.

[[OMG that's AMAZING and I love it XD mine is enchainement]]

-=hear a MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO in the background, and Ed's expression turn sour.=-

My brother would never forgive me. -=he won't admit he's become attached to her, either. Nope! Not at all!=-

-=lifts his automail hand up.=- I hear warm hands are a boon to not getting kicked in the face.

I know people who sort of farm here. There are green houses and orchards. Spinach has a high calcium content, and there are other ways than just milk to get it.

[Hear a slight snicker from Bennett. Sorry, Ed.] Ah, got it.

Oh. [So, so very curious.] So it's a metal prosthetic? That's interesting!

Hm, true. I'm just worried, this place is so different from back home and I don't want us to become ill or anything if we can avoid it.

Yep! Automail. It's the finest you'll ever see in this world or the next! =preens a bit.=

I know what you mean. We're working on turning some decent earth for some soil to plant things back where we are. After all, just because the snow's going away, it doesn't mean that it's not coming back next winter.

You have a full sensory range with that too? Can you experience texture or...? Sorry, I just find it really interesting. We don't have anything called Automail back home and we don't tend to use any sorts of metal for prosthetic in general. I think. Not my field.

Logic would say it will come back next winter, honestly. I'm glad it's letting up for the moment however.

[oh wow. i'm apping mine at edensphere, because I've missed it there]

Ah, no. I can detect pressure, but that's about it. If you want, I can refer you to my mechanic, and she can talk your ear off about it! It's not just metal. There's carbon in the mechanics as well.

Yeah, for the most part.

That would be great! Thank you.

I wonder what this world was like before everyone got yanked in here.

No problem! I bet she'd enjoy some honest to goodness girl talk about machines.

No clue. But it can't possibly be rag tagged as it is now.

Well it's mostly tech that gets me fascinated, but I'd love to learn about it.

I've seen the inner city I think that's what it was from the outside. It's impossible that it was built with the current infrastructure we have here, considering we're all lucky not to have died from exposure in the last week.

In the last week? You should have been here a month ago!

With a response like that, I think I'll be glad that I wasn't.
