02 ✍ This is the part where we apologize for others [text only]

Feb 09, 2010 12:47

I want to thank everyone who spoke with Topher yesterday. Specifically Alphonse. Sorry about that. For those of you who missed it or don't know who I am talking about, well, then it isn't worth concerning yourselves with I suppose but for those that did I think I should clarify a few things.

  • Neither myself nor Claire Saunders are impersonators or ( Read more... )

You were panicked. It's understandable.

Right.

Do you think one of your friends could try explaining the...obvious...difference in our memories? Without the crazy scifi speech cause that stuff kinda hurts my cantaloupe thinking about how IMPROBABLE it sounds.

Maybe? I'll ask. There have to be people here with families and such, and if someone has different memories than others it would be useful information.

The whole thing is improbable, Topher.

Families? Like with kids?

Well yeah. But our jobs from before probably sounds improbable too. I'm saying as the KING of the impossible that this sounds incredibly far out insane!

There was a man showing his photographs of his two year old daughter a few days ago. Moving photographs, but not like video. Like a .gif.

It might just be a science that we don't understand. We don't deal with space/time, we deal with the brain. Those are two completely different topics.

That's incredibly sad for some reason. I mean that kids are here. Doesn't seem fair.

I was never a big fan of physicists. Thinking they're so high and mighty above biologists. YEAH WELL LOOK WHO DESTROYED THE WORLD, STRING THEORY NERDS.

Brain guys: 1
Physicists: 0

It's the ones that would be here alone that I would feel more sorry for, but I know what you mean.

You do realize that you're going to have to back up and explain all that to me. And what happened to me. Sooner than later.

[He looks up from the cot where sitting and gives her some sad puppy eyes.]

No. I don't.

Topher...

[ Bennett frowns a little. ]

You realize I read everything you typed yesterday, don't you?

[He has to wrack his considerable brains to remember what he said yesterday. Hey total state of panic! When it happens his brain makes him forget his protocols and polite behavior!]

Oh. ...Then you know.

[End of conversation. In fact going to fiddle with the PCD now. He wants to program it to play pong.]

Topher.

[ Sitting next to him. Does she like being ignored? Hell no. ]

I want to hear it. From you. Not text on a screen. This isn't something you really have a choice with. It's only fair!

[But...pong!]

Bennett.

[He scoots over for her and then takes her hand.]

It doesn't matter what happened does it? We're both here now--none of it, the Dollhouse, Adelle, Boyd--matter! Don't you see, this is a second chance! A miracle! One that...smells like old abandoned building and is full of other things that could kill us but hey! I'll take it.

I just got you back.

[ She frowns at his hand in hers before she squeezes it a little. ]

All right.

[ She'll concede - for now. Part of her is afraid to push because what if he breaks down again like yesterday? She doesn't want that to happen again. ]

But I have another question, and you can't back out of this one.

[Good because when he does finally tell her, it will probably be best if Saunders is there and she's up to date but that will involve a certain revelation that Topher DOES NOT WANT to get into and oh for the love of god this should never come up. EVER!]

But--I--ok?

[Oh god he's afraid now]

It's not a bad thing! At least, it shouldn't be. Promise.

[ Reassuring smile is more scared than reassuring, sorry Topher. ]

Uhm. Are we dating?
