It was nice to have a place to call home. It was nice to have continuity, and something that he could call stable in his life. Like the woman in bed next to him.

She reached forward and kissed his cheek lightly, smiling at him at that. Count on the sight of a loved one and gentle words to make the whole day brighter.

Wolfwood smiled. "Slept fine, but the dreams were a little disappointing."

"Oh? Why is that?" She's curious now. Though, she would ask whether she was curious or not. She does want to know why her husband had disappointing dreams.

He shrugged, though shrugging while lying down is a bit of an awkward movement.

"You weren't in any of my dreams, that's all." And he lightly kissed her forehead.

She laughs a little at that and smiles at him, letting her arm rest across his chest.

"That's okay, I get to have you all day. I can give you some freedom in your dreams for eight hours a night at least."

Wolfwood listened patiently to the familiar complaint. He wasn't annoyed, just a little concerned. He wanted her to be happy, and when she talked like this, he was afraid she wasn't.
