I'll see you at the bitter end.

((A reminder to the population. I have moved Caius to levi. If he's on your alt f-list, remove him and add him on _levi, ladies. Sorry for ze confusion.))Well, I finally decided to get one of these, much to Eleanor's chagrin. Apparently, I spend too much time scribbling down notes as it is. It's hardly like she was much different until oh, about ( Read more... )

((I'm jumping ahead and assuming they already know each other from school.))

You know, Caius. I've got nothing against your wife, but I still think marriages are silly excuses invented by women to tie you down. How's your son now? He's at least- two?

And it's always a good idea to ignore Dolohov. He never has anything useful to say and his opinions don't matter.

Nearly two. And to be fair, I do love her very much. ...then again, she was the one who did the proposing.

No, but he's quite funny to tease. I think he's rather scared of me.

Exactly my point. I personally don't see the sense of it.

He'd be a fool not to be. You're a thousand times better than him. Anyone else could be.

Well, it's just one of those things you have to do before you die, isn't it?

Ahah. Flattery will get you nowhere. But thank you.

Marrying because you're obliged to is rather... depressing.

Don't have to take it personally. Say, we should catch up sometime. Does your busy work schedule allow time for a drink with an old friend?

Not so much obliged as...well, it's one of the many things you should achieve by the time you're old and boring. Get married, have a kid, have a decent job that you enjoy...they're important things in life that I wouldn't want to miss out on.

We should, indeed. I can find some time this weekend, I'm very sure. Saturday might be good.

I'll never understand that kind of thinking. To me, nothing else matters but enjoying myself. And I could never be happy with a commitment like that. You're lucky though. Theodore is a smart boy.

That's decided then. I'll see you then.

Ah, but it's a sort of secure sense that there'll always be at least two people that love you. It's comfortable. He definately is, but I'd be surprised if he was anything but.

You've known me long enough to know that I don't believe in that tripe.

Is that the ego I hear talking? You'll be telling me its all about good genes next.

And you've known me long enough to know that I do.

It is, didn't you know? All our family...both our families are super-intelligent-beings from another planet.

We'll each keep our opinions then.

They'd be extra-terrestial genes though. And I'm not sure that's healthy.

Indeed.

It is if they mean you're far more intelligent than the rest of humanity. Possibly.
