Sigh...

...of relief. Graduation has come and gone, and I was part of it as more than a spectator. Thank goodness.

At home, though, lack of substance is maddening. I need to work on my ability to hide distaste.

My mother gave me Tahitian pearl jewelery for a graduation gift; a necklace and pair of earrings to be exact. They're lovely. I've been doing some research on the mythology associated with black pearls, and it's all rather interesting. Legend says that Oro, god of peace, gave a black pearl to the princess Bora Bora as a sign of his everlasting love for her.

Dad is buying me a MacBook for college. I might be more excited about that than the pearls, hah.

My grandparents are still cute (even though my grandmother is very sick right now). Yesterday while sitting at the kitchen table, they started asking me where WVWC is, and wanted me to show them on the map they bought on the way here (Grandpa was very proud of his map buying skills).
Grandma: Cal, why don't you go get the map from the car so Katy can show us where her school is.
Grandpa: Beg me.
G'ma: No.
G'pa: Aw, shoot. No, you wouldn't do that, would you?
G'ma: Not on your life!
G'pa: AJ, I wouldn't trade you for the world.

One of my all-time favorite pictures of them. At their 50th anniversary (8-ish years ago)
