Work is good!
Finally, after three years of trying, it looks is if my 5 year TB grant will get funded. This is a big NIH grant that I started by lab with, and the budget crunch of the past few years hit us hard. I wasn't able to get the original grant renewed, but I did manage to keep the lab going. Now with this new funding, we can really go to town. I've been chomping at the bit.
Breathing a sigh of relief as it sinks in.
Things are hopping at work. We're in the pre-move stage right now--our department and 11 labs are moving to a new building in the next week or so. Boxes everywhere, stuff getting trashed. It's a zoo. But the new digs are very cool.
End of this week, I leave to give a talk at Brown University. Just a quick trip down on Thursday and back on Friday. Never been there before. Looking forward to it.
