yesterday was jay's and my 9 month anniversary. and to think... if he'd been easy we could be parents by now. to celebrate, we saw 'lord of the rings'. what a plentiful waste of time. i would have slept but for the sadistically-constructed chairs and the mini-drama going on 2 rows behind. a couple fellows felt the need to share with the rest of the theatre bits of dialogue and various other crazynerd-commentary. when security was finally called, one of the men refused to leave. he simply stared ahead and dreamily gesticulated. his friend, all striped-shirt and bitterness, called to him, 'come on. i guess we're not welcome here.'
as my mother has told me to never mix pickles and milk, or consume a banana before bedtime lest bad dreams may follow, my lesson for the week has been never tolkien last thing at night. i'm sure it poisoned my today.
nipped downtown this morning as ian had pre-school, and spur-of-the-moment-like, decided to get an haircut. nothing drastic, just some definition for this old mop. i ended up paying $30 to resemble
janet wood (see 4th picture from top)
then, as i perused a bottom shelf at the catholic store, my entire right knee split (well.... the pantyhose part of my knee, anyway).
when i thought it couldn't get any worse, a freak snowstorm blew in and delayed me in retrieving the boys from school .
there's more to my abysmal day, but i'll spare you as i know how boring other peoples' problems are.
