Regardless of the topic, I'm very interested in the idea of a community which has a specific intention to avoid snarking and nastiness while not being composed entirely of people who agree with each other all the time. In terms of the actual topic, I don't know much about politics and the bigger world picture, and I'm not sure I ever will; I'm good at details and the smaller things, and there's only so much one person can comprehend. I also have a rather inconsistent schedule and so my livejournal use happens in bursts. But if that doesn't make me completely useless to the community, then yes, I am interested. I think I know a few other people who might be interested, too, but I'll wait until you've got the thing set up before I suggest any names to you.

I would enjoy that. Today, I read that the makers of Wikipedia are all about bringing more substance (less style) to political discourse. They created a wiki about political campaigns. Their format is very interesting even if you disagree with the view points. I definitely liked the article on terrorism. I am going to add you as an LJ friend. If I don't comment a whole lot, it is because I keep a friends' list that is too long and am somewhat overwhelmed by reality at the moment.

This sentence makes it to my list of best 21st-century quotes "I'm sorry, I cannot be with you on the net too often, as I am somewhat overwhelmed by reality at the moment." ;)
