Ugh. I hate them, mostly. This is because of all of the crap obligations that go along with not being one of the two becoming wed. I hate parties, generally, too--so there's not even that aspect that I can enjoy. You have to wear uncomfortable clothes, you have to tolerate people you otherwise wouldn't, you have to shell out your own money for somebody else just because they've decided to be together (gifts), and if you're unlucky like me, you're almost never invited unless it's under the request of being a member of the wedding party. (Even worse.)
