I saw AFI perform at Streetscene the other day and it was absolutly mechanical.

I waited an hour and a half to meet AFI and get them to sign my ticket.. but a bunch of cutters jumped the line and I missed the chance to. ...but Im not bitter....

Then I waited 3 hours through Jimmy Eat World and the Killers... both which sounded exactly like they do on their cds (good) but had absolutly no stage presence.. what-so-ever (bad) and didnt move an inch

after 3 hours of light bruising AFI came on and obliterated the crowd. Ive seen AFI perform before and they were phenomenal.. period.. and so was the crowd actually. but at streetscene.. the fans were terrible. they stopped the show a total of 4 times because boys next to me were passing out from the heat, and what looked like a riot more so than the "crush." I took a few blows to the head while I presided against the front barricade, at which time  the barriers a few fet next to me nearly collasped and again AFI stopped playing. I just remember Davey screaming "Everyone back the fuck up the barriers going to collapse and all these fucking kids are going to die. BACK THE FUCK UP"

After 2 more songs a girl near to me had her entire nose punched in her face she was bleeding everywhere and barely concious I just remember lifting part of her up and seeing her eyes roll in the back of her head. ( I nearly pissed my pants)

Again Davey stopped the music to get her escorted out. which took a total of 5 looong minutes due to the bitches who kept pushing forward against the already breaking barricade.

AFI played a phenomenal set, but the crowd was absolutly terrifiying. I remember at the very end I had to be lifted out of the crowd by the security gaurds and actually carried out. I consider myself quite a tough person, ive survived a great number of shows as well as a number of extremly painful medical conditions.. but I have never been in soo much pain in my life.

I lost my firends after the first 5 minutes of AFI and therefore after the performance was over I merely laid on the concrete near passed out. Kim and Jess found me later once I was pretty much fine. And sat with me for a bit before Jess left for Social D. who also played an pretty good show except that all their songs sounded exactly the same.

I got a job offering...I might land an interview with Darkest Hour and if I perform well ETID. fabulous how that worked out.

but anyway, tooo much talking and I doubt anyone will want to read this anyway, so au revoir for now

xoxo
