Well, I've come to a decision: As well as needing to write about the Anglo-Prussian Alliance (CoughSevenYearsWarFTW) the way a fish needs a fishhook in their mouth, I need to do a small series focusing on the Schleswig Wars. After the utter research fails of the past two weeks, I opened up a mine of information for Schleswig-Holstein, as I plod along with "Eight Men." There is just waaaaay too much to write about. I suppose this is partially mourning for the fact that I think I'm almost done with my Thirty Years' War ficlets.
As for the subject line: Why did I choose to have a chapter in which one section turned out to be unresearchable? Why did I decide to go into the end of the Second War of Schleswig? Why did I think that topping off the bloody thing would be best with a Bloody Sunday bloody Russia tribute? I think I'm going to hit the cliche wagon at about 80 MPH. Why? Why? Why?!!!! *MF bounces around the internet in Rhode Island-like fury*
Gar. I need someone to beat me around the head with a fat ol' stick.
And I might not write about the Anglo-Prussian Alliance, after all, even if it is hilarious, just because I get the feeling that people have covered that pretty well, and people are not looking too hard at Schleswig. Meh. I'll have to see what happens with Eight Men.
Tentative Historical Projects:
- DETAILS about the North Sea War and Kalmar Union (I have exact dates and everything. This one isn't tentative)
- Thirty Years' War wrap up piece. The death of Gustavus Adolphus (not tentative at all, but it might be paired with a death of Fritz fic, or go into Sweden and the Girl King. I dunno.)
- Seven Years' War one-shot series focusing on the Anglo-Prussian alliance (tentative. I need to see how other people are doing it. If it's getting a fair amount of coverage, I'll skip it, even if I do want to do both a Prussia vs. Sweden piece and an England as ruler of the New World, dealing with an unhappy Canada and irritating his fellow empires piece)
- The Schleswig Wars (very tentative. The fire is burning hot right now, but that means nothing)
- Canada and Normandy 1943 (not pleasant, but it would give me an excuse to talk about the Kreisau Circle-yeaaaaah, I dare anyone to figure out how I would fit the German Resistance with the allied invasion of Normandy from Canada's perspective)
- Spain and Juana one shot
- Imperial!Spain and Tudor!England on the dance floor one shot.
*Tentative* Non-Historical Projects:
- Umm... I have some fantalia ideas I'm tossing around. I might be looking for someone willing to deal with my outlines of doom to read through and find the plot holes in.
- My freaking obsession with Japan/Netherlands struck in the form of a high school AU. I should probably be shot with the cliche gun.
Why are there so many ideas and no time?! Better still, why did I think that fanfic writing was going to be a break for me during the holidays?
