Pissed off a lot of people, and thrilled lots of others. The "culture wars" are still ramping up, and I fear what will happen when they do finally reach their peak.
Yes, and that thrill makes me sad and angry, and frankly I have a hard time understanding it. How could someone cheer the put-down of people who work hard in communities to make their own and others' lives better? How cold-hearted and mean-spirited does the average Republican have to be to think this is a good thing?
I can't answer that one. The mindset is foreign to me. But I am reasonably certain that from within that mindset, the adjectives used are rather kinder. Dunno what they are or how they're justified, but... *shrug* Very few people consider themselves or their causes evil. (No matter what it might look like to us 'right-thinking' folk! *g*)
That's one of the things that scares me about her.
Imagine a female Dubya. Except she's smart, articulate ... and *competent*.
Not much in my personal universe scarier than THAT image.
