Dear fellow magicians, Seasons Greetings, Happy Yule and Merry Christmas!
SANTA'S INSOMNIA LONGEST NIGHT OF THE YEAR SOLSTICE SPECIAL! STOREWIDE 1/2 OF SALE! DETAILS BELOW!
Do you believe in Santa? Well, I do. Once upon a time, I hated Christmas, even with it painted over as Yule, because of all the crass overconsumption, glitzy, shallow materialism, and gods, the Christmas music. Over the years, though, it dawned on me that what I was, really, making my potions and all the jewelry and wands, the paintings, the hula hoops, was a Santa's elf! All of a sudden I had a place, a role in the holiday, call it Yule, Christmas, Solstice, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa. I believed again in Santa, and I hope you do to. I just encourage us to develop the Elf, the Santa, the Maker, in each of ourselves, and to support the Elves around us in our own communities, instead of sweatshops in countries that most of us will never see.
If you want a witchy treatise on Yule, there is one from last year in these newsletter archives. Thanksgiving Day was my year anniversary of being online, so this year I wanted to give y'all more of a present. So there is an original Christmas story here, and a great big Thank You Present, right after The News.
The News: First a little not-so-bad news. Shipping costs are hurting me, so come January 1st, I will need to raise the minimum order for free shipping from $30 to $50. Really, $5 bucks shipping for smaller orders is still quite a deal here in the InterWebs. So order now for the cheaper shipping. Second, the hand-ground incenses will go up from $4 to $5 because of increased packaging costs on Jan. 1st. Again, time to stock up on incenses.
Now the Big News which is Good News! I call this the Santa's Slumber Party Insomnia Longest Night of the Year Solstice Special. Catchy, huh? As you know, the Winter Solstice is the longest night of the year, and one of the Yule traditions is to stay up all night stoking the fires as a vigil for the return of the Sun. Here is a great diversion while you are up all night: It is a store-wide half-off sale from sundown (5:30pm Central Time) Dec. 21st to sunrise (7:30am Central) on Dec. 22nd.
Crazy, right? Here are the rules:
1) you have to place your order during those hours of the night of the Winter Solstice
2) the sale applies to everything except the wands and the pendulums
3) you can order only up to two of any one item. (If you want to order five Dragon's Blood resins, you can, but you will have to pay full price again. This is so I don't go out of stock with one person's order, and we can spread the love around to more customers.
4) I fully expect to run out of stock on some things, but if you follow these rules, I will back-order your purchases or refund you for out-of-stocks, your choice.
5) I've never done anything like this, so be nice or Santa will bring you a lump of coal!
