Rayven423: I work with my store manager, Jenn the assistant manager, Stacy the one competent person, and two guys, Mike and Jeff
Rayven423: Mike and Jeff have been working for my manager since he was at his old store, and transfered here with him
Rayven423: neither of them do anything ever, we keep them around because someone has to run stock room

Rayven423: last night, i got a call from Mike, asking if i could open, meaning come in two hours early. he specifically mentioned it wasnt for him, because he knows I wont cover him
Rayven423: I text him and say I'll do it, because i figure its for Stacy, who sprained her back and is out for a week, or for my manager who is very ill right now
Rayven423: so Mike closed last night, and I opened this morning
Rayven423: well, yesterday for us, whatever XD

Rayven423: so Jenn comes in at two, which was written on the schedule in pen as a change
Rayven423: and I double check, and find out, even though I am not personally covering Mike's shift, JENN is, and I am covering HERs
Rayven423: so in a roundabout way I am covering for Mike

Rayven423: as a supervisor, I am considered low teir management
Rayven423: so I'm running through the opening checklists of things that need to be done before open
Rayven423: temperature log (the store has to be 70 degees F or below at all times, something like 24% humidity)
Rayven423: I fill it in, notice it wasnt done last night when mike closed
Rayven423: check the card captures from last night (basically everytime someone says yes to "would you like to recieve out coupons via email")
Rayven423: and I notice, oh hey, Jeff is punched in for last night, but hes not on the schedule
Rayven423: he also never punched out
Rayven423: but basically, Mike brought his friend in and gave him hours when we have no hours to give, without managerial consent, because he felt like it

Rayven423: they both did okay with the captures, but there are no transactions afte 7:20 and we close at 9
Rayven423: which means they closed the store down earlt, which means if security sees it we get fined severely
Rayven423: it is at this point I realize
Rayven423: there are literally clumps of dust on the floor
Rayven423: they didnt swiffer last night, which is a job requirement for a closer
Rayven423: so I swiffer and dust and windex the entire store
Rayven423: the next thing on the list is "review previous days business"
Rayven423: admittedly most people just check this off as done, but i actually do it
Rayven423: daily log, which you are supposed to do every hour on the hour over the course of the day: the three hours i worked are filled in because i did them, the three hours the manager was still there after i left are done, NOTHING after that
Rayven423: so I go looking for the final read-out sheet, which would at least have end of day sales numbers i can write in and finish the log Mike and Jeff were supposed to do
Rayven423: we have a big binder of paperwork with folders for each day, its a really good system when people use it
Rayven423: so I open the binder, flip to Monday to get the paperwork
Rayven423: except there IS no paperwork
Rayven423: the credit card reciepts are in an envelope, the deposit slip is hastily filled out and shoved in the folder with the strip from the deposit bad
Rayven423: bag*
Rayven423: that is IT
Rayven423: so I do all of their paperwork. I find out later from Jenn that this is how they do things, they'll do it the next time they work before the manager sees that it wasnt done
Rayven423: so I screwed them over and did it perfectly with my signatures and initials on them
Rayven423: I keep a running list of what I do all day for the managers, it says towards the top really big "DID MIKE'S JOB" and listed everything i did for him
Rayven423: they also didnt bring the Easter stuff from upstairs like they were supposed to
Rayven423: and apparently, when Jenn came in, she thought I was staying til 5, because thats what Mike told her when he called with the shift change, but I was only on schedule til 3

Rayven423: would not stop WHINING about how she cant go more than 3 hours without food
Rayven423: she is really nice, and she does her assistant manager stuff well
Rayven423: but she is still a salesperson and she complains about the sales stuff CONSTANTLY
Rayven423: at first i didnt mind htat
Rayven423: because i thought someone in upper management was finally hearing what Stacy and I have been saying forever
Rayven423: but no, she just wants to complain.
Rayven423: so when she gets in, I tell her whats up
Rayven423: "oh thats how it always is" and goes about her non work
Rayven423: ...wat

Rayven423: something needs to fucking happen here
Rayven423: so i left a note for the actual manager, saying basically "I dont want to tattle, but they have been here for years and should know better, please address this so I am not doing the work for the entire team"
Rayven423: but GOD DAMNT i wanted to choke a bitch today
and then I fell asleep at 7 because I could barely stand from doing the whole team's work all day. Fun times.
