Hmmphrrrg. That is how I feel right now.

Russian class is going well. We've dropped our regular attendance numbers to about 7 or so, with an all-time low of four on Thursday. It is interesting to learn what a language and its culture feel it is important to distinguish and thus keep in their grammar and what does. For instance, there is no distinction made between the present indicative and the present progressive (I read books and I am reading a book). The same with the past tense- no distinction between simple past (I went to the store yesterday) and habitual past (I used to go the store on Sundays). But, there are at least 3 different ways you can say some variety of go thus far. I know that there's more. (exatb-to be in the process of going to a destination by vehicle, iditb-to be in the process of going to a destination by foot, and hoditb- to go somewhere and back (round trip).

I like the Oxford Comma.

Also, it's interesting to figure out what our book, and thus, our teacher, and by extension the language, finds it important for us to know. For instance, I know how to say "Boris and Natasha know how to build bombs" and "My wife works at the factory", but not "I am happy today" or "I am feeling sad" or "I'm sorry".

I am at work right now, waiting for the second show to start. Our ME, Mike, has configured something on the laptop so I can internet here early this week. So, needless to say, I haven't been getting anything particularly constructive done. Not that I'm not doing my work. Being the deck chief, while yay theatre! and all, isn't all that challenging. I spend a good chunk of the show waiting for stuff to happen. Also mopping. But mostly I lift furniture and carry it places. I'm thinking of changing my title to "furniture ninja" but not really.

No one really communicates here. Most days it kind of operates at about the middle school level of communication. Now, me commenting on this should be a delicious form of irony, but still. I can (and have!) gone an entire day without saying anything other than "Yes", "No', "Good evening" and "Want to help me roll up the rug/move the desk?". Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but when you're consistently excluded from conversation and updates which may be important to my getting my job done, it gets old. Quickly. Blargh.

Oatmeal is good.

Also, Murderers is a great show. We've been consistently selling out or just short of sold out. It's very funny. There is a Pay-what-you-can-night on Monday at 7:30 if anyone's interested.
