So everyone knows that my roommates and I pretty much hate Flint. Some more than others but, we all have a special hatred for this town. Here's just one more reason we do. When we moved in at the beginning of this quarter the upstairs shower was slightly broken. Not broken enough that we couldn't use it just slightly broken. See, the diverter that sends the water from the spout to the shower head was loose and when you turned the shower on a lot of water pressure was still coming out the spout rather than the head. No biggie, just turn the water pressure up a little higher and deal with it. But we let our land lord know when he collected the rent and he said he'd send one of the maintenance guys he uses over to check it out.
A few days later the maintenance guy shows up. I explained what was happening and showed him the shower. He fiddled around for a while and then told me he'd have to see if he could find any replacement parts, or whether he'd have to replace the whole thing. So he left and we didn't hear from him for a week.
When he did come back he explained that he couldn't replace just the diverter, and he'd have to replace the whole valve assembly on the tub. But he and the landlord didn't want to inconvenience us, so he was going to do a temporary fix and then replace the whole thing in January after we moved out. Gee thanks, we all thought. So he screwed around with the shower awhile and then left, holding a roll of duct tape in his hand.
This is what we found upstairs:
Yeah, he duct taped the spout shut. What a joke. Handyman my ass. My 5 year old nephew could have done a better job. And it still leaks when I take my morning shower.
