I found the Cure for what ails me...

No I wasn't sick again, (although it wouldn't surprise me the way this year is going) just being witty. Last night was awesome, it approached pure Nirvana (for an 80's music fan like me that is). I went out to Blossom Music Center for the Curiosa Festival. Among the bands performing was one of my top two all time favorites The Cure. It doesn't get much better than that. Okay so I can think of something better, The Cure and Siouxsie & the Banshees playing together.

Robert sounded awesome, just like he did back on the Three Imaginary Boys demo album in '79. This was my first time seeing The Cure and they did not disappoint. The set was a good mix of early stuff and songs off the new album. They didn't play all the hits I was hoping to hear but the set included many really good songs. Of course they played Lovesong, one of my favorites, and Pictures of You, another classic, and then there was End of the World from the new album quickly becoming one of my favorites. The show was a little more on the somber side, and they left some of the happier songs out. I really would of liked to hear Boys Don't Cry, Friday I'm in Love, or Just Like Heaven. Oh well, there's always a next time.

I went to the show with Jenny, who surprisingly had never seen them live either. We had a great time together. She commented early in the drive down that is was pretty cool going to see an '80's band, driving in an '80's car. So I had to show her my Aviator Sunglasses to make her laugh.
