nice, btw: "inui" and "yanagi" are both single-kanji last names. inui means "dry" while yanagi means "willow." no real comparison between them, i just noticed it.
I fear the existence of such a thing.pengiesamaJanuary 3 2004, 23:48:03 UTC
I bet that the both of them collaborate on juices, using ancient Hawaiian death vegetables. They meet at the foot of Mt. Kilauea every year to brew the juices in the fires of the volcano.
(On the fic: <3 Love the new chapter. I especially enjoyed the flashback scenes, myself.)

i bet yanagi cheats. i bet when inui's not looking he adds a few more death vegetables to make his concoction more potent. let's not mention he has a whole pouch of charms with which to call the powaa of darkness for added body. surviving something like this on a daily basis ought to be what gives the rikkai team their mad skillz.
thank you! glad you liked it...am a bit concerned about the last flashback scene. like every other good rikkai fan, i have a hundred and one theories for The Promise, i just picked one and stuck with it ^^ so i'm not sure if it's the best one for this fic...but yeah.
Perhaps it is the Powaa of Darkness, along with giving the juice added body and a minty tang, that gives the Rikkai players their mad skillz.
But, y'know, Yanagi's juice has more undesirable side effects than Inui's juice. Marui's always having sugar fits, Niou and Yagyuu think that they're each other, Kirihara sporadically becomes rabid, Jackal lost all of his hair...Teh Darkness is mighty, but comes with a price.
(I have my own bizarre theories about The Promise. Considering my previous theories, I assume you realize that it's not at all realistic. (And that it concerns that damned penny.) I think yours is quite realistic--I would think that those three would be the ones to make such a goal, after all--and fits with the story well. Like you noted, there are quite a few ways that The Promise could be shown, and this is likely one of my favorite scenarios thus far.)

sadly, it doesn't seem like this has occurred to inui. not that inui would actually dare call upon the minty fresh Powaa of Darkness, even if it has. the wuss.
i've been trying to think of undesirable side effects of inui's juice...but even with the temporary unconsciousness, the compulsion to writhe and scream immediately after consumption, taka's speaking in tongues, kaidou's involuntary hissing, and tezuka's inability to change facial expression, i really can't come up with anything that would top the sheer evilness of yanagi juice. yanagi juice is king.
i'd love to see other people's versions of The Promise. for what it's worth, your theory concerning that damned penny is one of MY favorites. ;)
thank you so much! i'm really taking liberties though. i can only imagine how badly this fic is going to suck when official information about rikkai finally comes in XD XD
if all goes well, this fic just has one chapter left to go. i hope to tie up everything neatly by then :)
