Before all else, I want to let you know that I was drinking water while checking my flist. I nearly spat it out because I spazzed when I saw this post.

It's finally here and it's so beautiful, BBgun. It's sad but beautiful. It's not too angsty but it is sad as only HIbari can show it in his Hibari way. With Yamamoto 'moving on' it's such a release for him -- and it's true -- he's just glowing in the company of the 'family'...

8018 doesn't make much sense to me as a pairing, but you managed to make it work out well. Extra kudos for writing angst achingly beautiful and not melodramatic.

I commented before that I have always entertained the idea that they have known each other before... but to see it being written in such a way. This is everything I have imagined and so much more. It flows so nicely with the cannon timeline; every event incorporated in such a plausible manner. There is such a charm to your characterisation as well. It's so sad that they didn't end up together at the end of this fic, but it is not entirely hopeless as the ending suggests that there are posibilities for their relationship to develop in many ways in the future.

I hope you write more of this pairing. You fic is easily one of the best in the fandom in my opinion:D Keep up the good work!

thank you so much for reading through to the conclusion. in general, i think i'm better with one-shots, so i was thinking maybe it was best to end this fic at the first part... but the challenge of tying everything up with canon just wouldn't leave me alone. now that i see that some readers liked it, i feel better about the decision to write the next part out :D
