Birthday: September 22nd, 1991
Power Description: He can morph into any animal at will (as long as he’s seen it before either in person or a detailed picture), which is useful for distracting people or hiding. His favorite type of animal to morph into is an eagle because of their flight and speed. Kale is mainly known for morphing into a red fox. To him, his power is second nature since he uses it so often. He hasn’t had to fight a whole lot while morphed. Kale has a notebook of notes about the animals he’s morphed into along with some pictures to keep his memory fresh. Also, when he morphs the clothing he had been wearing stay on whatever animal he turns into. (They alter with his body.) Morphing causes his body a certain physical strain, so after a long period of being an animal he usually rests/sleeps. Kale does know his limit though. Also that certain animals can be more tiring to be than others. Example: An elephant would make him have to sleep after a few minutes, where as he could be a dog for almost twenty minutes straight.
Character Background: Kale was born in Manchester to his mother, Susan Hopkins. His father left her when she was six months pregnant because he didn’t like the idea of becoming a father. Susan raised Kale in their small two bedroom apartment for years.
Kale grew older, living a calm life, and showed no signs of abnormality until he was ten. A few weeks after he turned ten, his mother walked into his room and found a young golden retriever on his bed. She fainted at the sight. The following day, Kale woke up and found his mother panic stricken by his bedside. She told him what had happened and asked lots of questions. Like “how’d you do it?” and “what happened?”. Kale had no answers for her.
In a few months time, Kale found himself having several instances turning into a dog. Susan ended up taking him to a doctor, who just laughed at them and sent the two on their way. Kale took matters into his own hands. He figured out that he was special and figured out he could turn into a dog. (Which he found odd at first.) At school, he picked up a book on animals, trying to learn more about them. The day he picked up said book was the first time he turned into something other than a dog. Kale ended up turning into a monkey. Again, his mother fainted and she was amazed. After waking up, she came to the conclusion that he could not only morph into a dog, but other animals as well.
Jump to Kale, age 15. He has a better handle of his power and uses it when he knows he shouldn’t, like at school for example. He’s curious to know about his father finally and demands answers from his mother, who has none whatsoever. After learning nothing of importance from her, he takes off in a dog form in search of answers. For a few months, Kale runs goes all over the UK in search of his father and doesn’t find him. He starts back home, doing his usual routine of ‘I’m just a stray dog. Give me some food’ act and gets caught when he shifts back to his regular self. The police take him in, question him, and then put him in a cell on an account of thievery. This doesn’t settle well with him so he escapes by morphing into a fly.
Kale returns home to his stressed mother. When he mentions where he was, she is in awe. He finishes up school like a normal kid to appease her and moves into a small place of his own directly after turning 18 that’s on the edge of a forest. He finds himself in a bit of trouble when he nearly gets attacked his first trip to a bar. Kale doesn’t fight, but instead he turned into a wolf and bit his attacker. He got out of the bar before the police arrived and morphed back to normal, but someone saw him and reported him. The police traced him back to his house and tossed him in a “special” high security cell. This is when Stryker catches wind of him and tells him he has to join Team X. He promises him “freedom”. Kale likes his offer and just wants to get out and roam again so he agrees to join.
Personality: He’s quiet, almost shy; but if you put him in a hard situation, he tends to take on animalistic tendencies. (Depending on what he turns into, of course.) Kale looks to learn new things or find new animals that he could take the form of. He’s not afraid to show people what he can do and has a certain pride in it.
Sample In-Character Post: Roaming the forest. This was when he felt most alive. Kale has morphed into a red fox and had been prowling around for the past hour. It was an odd hobby, but he enjoyed it. He sniffed the air and looked to his right. There seemed to be people coming into the woods. Quickly, he ran back behind a hiding spot of a few trees and morphed out of the fox form. Kale stood and picked up his leather jacket, throwing it back on. He put his hands into his pockets and whistled a tune as he strode out of the woods with a smile.
Sample Character Journal Post: Sat outside today and tried to find something different to morph into. All I saw was a bluebird. That wasn’t the most fun experience I’ve ever had... So I changed into an eagle and flew around for an hour. That was way more enjoyable.
