journal entry, not giving up on perl.
well, i was slacking. i hadn't read anything in my book for like 2 weeks, maybe 3 weeks. but i finally opened my book and read some today. i was having troubles staying focused on what i was reading though, like it wouldn't stick in my brain and i had to go back and read everything i had just read. so i'll try again sometime tonight, maybe i'll have more luck, but i'm not giving up on perl. maybe i'll never be a master, but i want to be at least "good" with it (=
in other news the support channel i started on DALnet for schizophrenia is going well. new people keep showing up.
i'm proud of myself for not giving up on perl yet. i might actually learn it. it's difficult for me to stick to though when i already know langs like Java, C,C++ and VB... but perl is portable, it runs on mac, windows, and unix environments like Linux.. plus i plan on getting into white-hat hacking and perl is an awesome language for that. like once i get good at it, i'll be able to whip up short programs to test things in like 10 minutes.
a lot more is going on in my life, but i just don't feel like typing about it right now, maybe next entry (=
