Different bodies are at the heart of this inspiring story. What is it like to take on life in a different body than the one you are used to? I took the theme of the illustration from the idea that the blue colour represents the old Sam, the old body, the other colours (especially red) represent Nick's body.
Again, I used a monotype base made of acrylic for this illustration. From there I have continued with different techniques, sometimes with pencil, sometimes with watercolour or pastels.
I also still have a "thing" about horizontal lines and squares: I deliberately leave them in the work.
Some of the work is drawn directly with watercolour pencils, using very thin water as an aid (Sam in the shower, in front of the mirror).
