SSSSOOOOO been a couple of months, I figured I'd give my adoring fans (read: captive audience) an update at to the major goings on in my life.
Work: Still at Land O' Lakes. However, the job is... oh how shall I say this?? Boring, unfulfilling, and did I mention boring?? Sure the pay is great... but that's not stopping me from looking for another job. In fact I have an interview with U.S. Bank tomorrow for a Windows Server admin position. Ah servers... I'd love to work on servers... much more controlled environment than desktops. ./daydream.
World of Warcraft: Yup, still playing. Still raiding, and doing well. For those that play, my new guild is Phoenix on the Misha server. In the past month and a half since joining them, we have successfully completed the Mount Hyjal and Black Temple raids. Taking our first real steps into Sunwell Platau tonight... SSSSSOOOOOOO excited.
I'm very much looking forward to the next WoW Expansion, Wrath of the Lich King. However my time in playing WoW is very limited.. as I will be leaving the game to explore other hobbies with
lawsoprano once she graduates from law school.
Ren Fest: First weekend was... well.. first weekend. Aside from the original Snot of Puke and Snot dying less than a week before the show... pretty much the show is the same as it has been for the last 3 or 4 years. First weekend was about remembering why and how to pace myself and not be dead by the end of the weekend. Got to see lots of friends that I have seen since... well.. last festival season. All in all, opening weekend went about as well as it could be expected...stupid blisters.
Family: Mom is doing... well... honestly I don't know. She has an appointment next week to see what effect (if any) the chemotherapy is having on her cancer. Dad... not to be out done by Mom, decided that he wanted to make a race out of things.
Few weeks ago Dad was taken to the ER with chest pains which turned out to be a Pulmonary Embolism. After running some tests Dad came back with a laundry list of issues around his heart: an Aortic Aneurysm and 2 of his 4 bypasses are now completely blocked. (Quick histroy for those that don't know.. dad had a quadruple bypass when I was in middle school and his aortic valve replaced in 2000.) After some hemming and hawing from the doctors, they finally said that surgery was not an option to repair these issues due to a number of factors and are doing their best to treat his conditions through medication.
My Brother and I went down to Oklahoma last month, just after the 4th, and had a "Family Planning" meeting and went over all the uncomfortable but necessary details about handling of their estate and other posthumous arrangements.
Wife: Things between
lawsoprano and I have, quite honestly, never been better. We have sat and had a LOT of discussions about our relationship lately (where it's at, where we're going, what do we want to change, etc..) and are working out the next steps in our lives together. She's also been so wonderful to me these past few months helping me deal with all this crap with my parents and my job issues. I don't think the words exist in any language to adequately express how much I love her.
Overall: Life is... I wouldn't say it's good right now, but it's definitely getting better.
