who rocked out w/ the yuppies on the 4th of july?? thats rite, i did. it was like extreme yuppie-vision. first i went to the 41st street parade to say hi to all the relatives and family friends i hadnt seen in about a year. all i wanted was a hotdog, and my mom kept dragging me to random people that somehow knew me when i was a kid. i finally got my well deserved hot dog and (thank GOD!!) the last fat tire. its good beer, you should try it. my cousin, her friend, this other dude matt, and i walked around. we laughed at the little kids singing american idiot for the 12 millionth time b/c the street was swarming w/ republicans. shudder. i left to go take a nap.
then it was off to rancho murietta. where they keep an armed guard at the gate at all times. to protect those w/ a stick up their ass. we got drunk and obnoxious and probably pissed off a few families. i restrained my drunkeness during the fireworks tho. mike and marcus (the military boys) believe that the fireworks are a way of paying our respects to those that had to die for the country. its a funny way to pay tribute, but hey this country is full of funny things that just dont seem right. anyways, i cant disagree. even if the cause wasnt just, everyone that died was either a father, a son, a mother, a daughter, a brother, or a sister to someone.
it was a fun night, but not at the same time. somethings bugging me about mike. its weird cuz when its just the 2 of us hanging out we couldnt be closer friends. but get us in a group, we act like acquaintances. like we barely know eachother. it pisses me off b/c i wonder how much of it is him talking out his ass to get something that he wants. and i hate myself for not being able to trust him.
