So, I got the job! *woohoo*
Just sorta odd as to how i got it..... u see...
i thought i was going to an interview... but when i got there i was in a room with 9 other pples...
the guy ive been tlakin to for the last 2 weeks.. told us that we have the jobs we applied for... *yay* but he didnt even check references? well he hasnt checked mine yet....anyways.. just found that odd. He told us that we all have previous experience in an nursing home environment so we all should be able to work really well w each other.... so i guess he gave us the jobs based upon our experience and education?
He sounded really happy on the phone when i told him that i was almost completed my food service worker diploma.. i guess that was a plus on my resume.
I am to start orintation on the 23rd of oct for a week... then we are to start moving 20 pples in every week and have a full home by xmas.. 160 pples total. I gave my 2 weeks notice yesterday so im done white cliffe on oct 13th.
Which doesnt give me the 2 weeks i wanted to spend dwn in tx .. so im gunna talk to the guy and ask hime its possible for me to not be at work for the first 2 weeks of nov... i cant see them givin me f/t work hrs during that time.. we shall see...
also ..when i say the guy .. i mean Kevin.. hes the guy ive been talkin to for the last 2 weeks.. but i dunno what title he has.. if hes my dietary boss... or if hes a recruiter.. not sure.
The home itself is in a twn called Kleinburg.. which looks very close to Vaughan.
Sounds like im in "lil Italy" of the GTA though... guess ill be learnin some italian.
Ive been able to find some places to stay for bout 350-400/mth which is what i can afford... i just gotta find out where they are compared to where the hom eis... gotta find a lge.map....
gotta do some callin and searchin'
