Hot Places in Paris/London?

So, I just took a leap of faith and booked my ticket to go to Paris in April (with a side trip to London).
So my question to all of you is....

...anyone know any hot places to go,

or more specifically, anyone know any cool performance nights - I would love to arrainge to be able to perform at someone swanky night while I'm there, either paris or london, though I'll be in paris longer.

So, anyone got any cool connections you want to share with me?
