Delmarva Pagan Pride Fest 08
Well, we were only planning to stay half the day, but Chraithe was having such a good time catching up with our friends in the Assembly, that we stayed all day! I did most of the tabeling for the UUFS. I got a few locals to sign up for our Wednesday announcement email, and 15 out of twenty newsletters were picked up. The down side is that there were more people from Northern Delaware than from Eastern Shore MD attending the event. I did tell alot of people about the new UU forming in Dover, the UU of Central Delaware, and ran into some members of that forming congregation. I spoke highly of our John Wright as an excellent speaker, and encouraged some UUCD members to attend his services at the UUFS, so we might have some visitors. There was even talk of a newsletter exchange with the UUCD. Some of my ASW friends who are more local to Salisbury were interested in the UUFS. A number of people I spoke with never heard of the UU at all, and were surprized to hear of a Pagan friendly church that was pro-gay marriage. Some people commented that they were Pagan but their spouse was Buddhist, and seamed to be interested in an organization that would satisfy them both, something they could participate in together. I even spoke at length with a Quaker Pagan who gave me an overview of the Quakers, and we talked gardening. I also have two potential names for speakers at the UUFS.
