Good Things
I am in a better mood and even though there is plenty more that I'll need to vent about at some point, that point is not now. I will list some of the recent good things, as there are a few:
1) I am mostly over being sick
2) I found out about an intriguing job offer
3) I am going to a wedding saturday night, the first wedding for someone my age, and another couple my age just got engaged, which I find to be exciting, not scary
4) I have a new "hobby": songwriting. Don't laugh. A friend proposed an interesting idea/challenge so it's kind of in response to that. Not that I've completed any songs yet (really hard if you don't have a melody, so it's more like writing song lyrics at the moment), but I've got ideas for several and I'm making a lot of progress on one in particular
5) I've changed my focus at work from being the most popular person in the room to having a couple really tight friends whom I know have got my back, which is going well.
6) Work, although lacking in many respects, is proving to be an interesting cultural experience. I learn new things everyday about Nigerian men and what it's like to grow up in India and/or the Dominican Republic.
7) My old classmate Richard Rubin (you may know him from Beauty and the Geek, Season 1) is on myspace. I think I will try to add him as a friend and send a hello message, although he is probably too cool to associate with me now that he's trying to start an acting career in LA...
8) Did I mention already that I have a brilliant movie idea? Well, I do. Actually, that's kind of old news, and I don't want to go into too much detail here since it's better explained in person, but everyone I've mentioned it too, including someone who's written several screenplays, thinks it's great. I don't know where to begin in writing a script, but I believe I have finally worked out a plot and I firmly belive it can be produce on practically zero budget.
9) So far for Chanukah, I have received crazy socks, cute underwear, mascara, and Pirates 3 (to share amongst siblings)
10) The car now has new tires and an oil change so it is driveable, much more driveable than it was this morning.
EDIT:
Items with a strikeout refer to things that either never happened or turned out not to be a good thing when they did happen. I'm planning to do a long facebook note that will include wedding coverage, but the others are not worth discussing. Don't waste my time asking.
