Don't they say that the hardest part of a journey is taking the first step?

Regardless of a "less-than-stellar" academic record here, there are still several professors that would be more than happy to support you in your endeavor to apply to graduate school. Dr. Shive's spoken numerous times about calling up a school on behalf of a student with a 2.something, because he believed in him.

Furthermore, having participated in your own research here is nothing to scoff at, an opportunity that more than a lot of graduate applicants never get.

And now, you've even got work experience. Nobody really cares about the GRE anyway, and you'll probably do fine. The math IS SAT math, and the writing is ALL vocab, which you can easily get down within a month of studying. You could even listen to tapes on the way to and from work (although, I don't know if that would distract you from driving too much). You've got a lot of writing experience anyway, so your vernacular is probably pretty stellar.

Anyway, obviously, I think you're someone who deserves to pursue their interests. But make sure you're clear on your committment and intentions....you've got to get in SOMEWHERE, young lady, and chances are that won't be just ANYWHERE.

I'm here if you need to ask me questions, or get some test prep stuff, or want to come visit again ; )
