Back to the Grind
Today is the first day back in the office and I am easing my way in. I must say I am very fortunate. I genuinely missed my colleagues over the holidays. I am unsure that a lot of people can say the same. I loved seeing their holiday photos and catching up with them after a week and a half off.
Yesterday's drive back to NY was a loooong one, but I made it there in seven and a half hours. I returned the Rental Car almost two hours early. There was a lot of snow through the Pocono region and traffic was moving slowly and cars were sliding off the road. I was driving with white knuckles. But I made it. All in one piece. I did manage to find street parking right in front of my building to unload all of my holiday goodies in seven trips up to my apartment. My family and friends are too generous. Here are some of the highlights of Christmas 06 (no wonder it took so long to unload!):
-- a crock pot (have never owned one...now I can finally make pot roast)
-- a Forman grill (never had this either...maybe 2006 will be the year of culinary delights in my kitchen)
-- an electric beater (also new territory for me)
-- Sex & The City Season 6 Part II (my collection is now *almost* complete)
-- a device that turns your bathtub into a spa/whirlpool
-- new wine glasses (over the years I have managed to break an entire set of 8...I'll be extra careful with this set)
-- a pineapple shaped lamp (some of my decor has subtle hints of pineapple...the universal symbol for "welcome")
-- an ottoman to match my wicker chair
-- some wine and wine accessories (pretty bottle toppers and "jewelry" for the wine glasses)
-- good candles
-- many other odds, ends, and trinkets
AND.....I've got 10 more days until my London trip. Excited!
