I had forgotten why I left. *looks around* Oooh now I remember!! I HATE this place! argh.
It's not anyone really in particular that I just want to strangle and cast into the pits of Pitland, its just the constant watching and asking that drives me insane. Yesterday, while my parents were slowly cooking dinner, I went upstairs to work on a blanket that I can't seem to complete. I've already decided in my head that I'm never going to finish the darn thing, but I wanted to get away from the family for a few minutes. I swear to you, not even 2 minutes after leaving do I hear, "Where did Sam go?", "Did she go upstairs?", "SAM???", "Where'd she go?". Its like I've regressed into a reckless toddler again and they are certain they are going to find me under some bathroom sink drinking bleach if they dont' have me tucked under them every second. Yes I know they missed me (and I them, don't mistake me) but I'm still a person that needs a little "me" time. A little me, no I don't know when I'm coming home again, yes I do eat when I'm in Michigan, I dont' know when Paul will be here again FREE time.
I was in Dahlonega over the weekend. *raises eyebrows* That branch of the family tree is termite infested.
My cousin just got out of jail. I'm thinking we'd give him a hug, his mother would give him the "I'm disappointed in you" eyes and then we would just MOVE ON. Oh no. no no. We had a PARTY! A "YAY! You're out of jail!!" party. *confused* I can't help but wonder where my "Yay! You've NEVER been in jail!" party is, or perhaps a fabulous "I'm NOT having a baby!" shower. Heck, I'm still waiting on my "Congratulations! You graduated highschool and went to college!" CARD. Unfortunately this concept has been haunting me since I was a child. I was always an A+ student, yet my brother whos marks were less than satisfactory would receive praise and gifts when he made "barely passing" grades all the while I get nothing.
When did it become "better" to be "bad" and then become "good" than to always be "good"?
My wedding was a brief topic at the "You're out of Jail!" party. I had no idea that it could ever turn into a NEGATIVE thing, but apparently it can. My family has a few problems with it. The first problem is...wait for it...I'm having TOO LONG of an engagement!! *throws hands up in defense* forgive me!! How DARE Paul and I want to have a life and home established before we wed! *gasps of horror*
The next scandelous thing, and I assure you its foul, is the fact that I want it OUT OF STATE so I can keep the wedding SMALL *DUN DUN DUN*. What!? You mean you don't want to have 500 people packed into a hot southern baptist church so we can all point and gossip about how expensive it is? Sadly, no. No I don't. Of course my family is invited, but my grandmother quickly informed me that if it was in Florida she would NOT be attending. I guess she wanted me to start crying or something and beg her to please reconsider. I'm sorry if she was disappointed when I just looked at her and nodded in a "thats fine" manner. However, my parents are not being this way about the wedding in the SLIGHTEST. I am very very grateful. They are being very positive and upbeat about the entire thing. My Dad is offering SOO Much more than I thought he would and its going to be a fun planning process...hopefully ;) ...*sniffle* but what if my grandmother doesn't come? *rolls eyes* UGH!! This whole time I thought they would be giving me crap about my engagement ring! I had no idea they would be upset about me waiting another year or so to get married.
Thats all for now. I know some of you want pictures of the ring but right now I can only give you the stock photo. Its a .75 carat round brilliant cut center stone with 8 tiny little diamonds (not sure what shape) on each side of the diamond. I'll get pics of me wearing it soon. My Dad has a new digital camera and I'm sure he wants to get some use out of it.
