What an awesome weekend. Seriously.

On Friday we had a delicious Greek dinner (I had grilled tilapia over tabouli--fantastic!) and then went to an opening at the art center, where we learned that there is a ceramics class we can take at a place called VSA downtown for $15 if we donate in some capacity to any organization benefiting HIV positive folks. Cheap + charitable = win. Then we went home and watched Dark Shadows and drank a bottle of wine.

On Saturday Jenn got to teach, which always makes her happy, while I did some studious reading and worked more on the corset pattern. Then she came home and watched some football. Unfortunately, her hip was really hurting her, and although we took a walk with the dogs and that loosened it up some, she just wasn't up to a long drive and a social event, so we missed a very nice party, which was disappointing. Still, we watched more Dark Shadows and cuddled and that was good.

Yesterday we got up and made it to church for the new interim minister's first sermon. We both adore her--she is so cute, and clearly a pagan. She talked about the importance of taking risks lest you miss life altogether and quoted the Tao Te Ching. I approve whole-heartedly. After service, the woman whose opening we attended on Friday came up to me to ask if I would model for her portrait class for $9 an hour. Sit still for a little extra pay? Can do! We me a lovely art teacher who, upon hearing that I was going to model, said that HER class always needs (paid) models, and that she also knew an artist who pays $16 an hour and would pass along my contact information. So--hooray! Some of you are familiar with my exhibitionist streak, so you know that getting paid to be looked at is a pretty sweet deal for me. We came home and I took a massive nap followed by some study time. Then we played a couple of rounds of Scrabble before bed, where I drew all over her in marker. It made me miss doing henna. I will have to bust my supplies out sometime.

And that was the weekend! Other than missing the party, it was unparalleled.
