I can't believe we missed this, but a week ago in Knoxville, a gunman shot up Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church with a 12-gauge. Two were killed, seven injured. Miraculously, no children were wounded, despite the fact that the congregation had gathered to watch the children put on a play. The gunman was subdued by members of the congregation and a letter was found in his car expressing his hatred of liberals and gays.
I just can't fathom the kind of insanity that would lead a man to this.
