The Oubliette

I closed my eyes as darkness came
A screaming vortex filled with shame
The Angels with the bleeding wings
Fall down to lament mournful things
Decision made in light of a tear
For what I’ve done is what I fear…

Angels showed me your silhouette
Forever in my Oubliette

I opened my eyes, an empty space
You left this world without a trace
You became my piteous pawn
To bring about a wretched dawn
I should not have let my self succumb
For I fear what I’ve become…

I'll lock you away so I can forget
Forever in my Oubliette

With each new day I feel the sting
I hear malevolent Angels sing
They smile to keep you by their breast
Away from me in deific rest
I scream at the sky to cease their song
A decision made is a decision wrong

I'll keep you where I can forget
Forever in my Oubliette

Forced by my nature, I have just
Done the things I thought I must
I’ve spiralled to insanity
I’ve been stripped of humanity
I’ve taken this curse into my soul
This anathema’s false extol…

Please take me too, so I can pay this debt
And remain with you in my Oubliette
