That being said, I will add this comment. It is true that it has been said that the constitution will be hanging by a string and that it will be the LDS who bring the country back from the brink. (or something very like this. sorry don't have the specific quote readily available.) But the reason that the church will save the constitution, will be BECAUSE we follow the laws and tenets of that same document, not because we disregard it. We won't tear it apart, we will support it. And all the laws that have been upheld to be constitutional.
I am not saying that all the laws that the legislatures have passed are constitutional, that is what the Supreme Court is for.
For the church to uphold and support the constitution, we have to read it. We have to teach it to our children. We have to read the papers and documents written by the founding fathers, who wrote the constitution and understand what they were attempting to do by creating that water-shed document. This is all outlined in the D&C.
