Today was much better than yesterday for no particular reason at all. I went hope feeling pretty happy, despite the fact that I had my first soccer game and therefore got home even later than usual. Actually, technically it was a scrimage and we won, 3 to 1. I played really well first half as right forward, but second half I somehow got stuck at center mid because Quack had no one else to put there and since I played with her last year, she know I'm at least semi-capable (LOL - "I know you know how to play the position" she said to me, WHATEVER COACH!). Anyway, I totally sucked at that and I wasn't too great at center forward either, although I was open all the time and I only got one or two crosses. I felt so bad: Tessa made this awesome cross and I got my foot on it at the same moment as the goalie touched it so I didn't score even though I had the perfect opportunity. Oh well, who cares. Lace and Syd were AWESOME in goal, specially Lace. Oh and also my left leg - well knee area to be more specific - hurts because this one time I had my leg fully extended and had just put my foot on the ball when this other girl SLAMMED her foot into the other side of the ball and like bent my foot outward at a 45 degree angle and now my ligaments are all messed up. (Oh great, injured in the first game of the season).

My dad is painting our door because it used to have all these heinous, nasty looking scratches on it from my mom's former pyscho-dog Brimbles. He's been meaning to paint it for like 15 years now and finally did, and guess what: he painted it blue. My shutters are blue (the house it white) but they're a lighter, creamier blue than the door, so it clashes. he finally paints the door and he paints a clashing color. Perfect. He says he "likes the contrast." I don't want a blue door. I like my brown door. What are we, a depressed family?? It's like that Lizzie episode...never mind, I won't get into that.

Quote of the day:
Bowman: "when were the slaves freed?"
Angela (not thinking clearly): "1935"
Tran (still not thinking clearly): "1692

Bowman: "Who started race science?"
Julia: "Frederick Douglas!"
^Wow, our history class is so smart
