My LJ friends, sorry I have neglected you....

In reality, I probably see most of you daily at tumblr, but to those that I don't I'm sorry I haven't been around here much.

I've been working on a new hood for the past year or so that's 100% my lots and sims and also trying my hand at sc4 terrains. So far, I just have one though. The other two are maxis. It's also mostly cc-free. I have included some mods that keep townie and npc sims from regenerating (though a batch of apartment life sims got in, grrr >!) As well as some hood deco and an invisible driveway. I might do an entire post about what mods/cc I kept while building my hood.

The more suburban base hood, called Willsville  is mostly complete. The very rural, paranormal/military, small town and farm-themed subhood, called Ronswell, has hardly been touched. And this is a picture of the more urban and commercial part of my downtown, called Wrightsberg. It has a ways to go as well. Because I'm trying to mostly have row-connected buildings and an urban appeal it requires a bit more overall planning than the other subhoods.

The numbers give me an idea of the space, 3x5 or 9x7, etc.

So far I have...
The city center park (that big green area in the middle) Which I based off a park where I live and I like how it turned out. It has a little coffee stand and a small theater for musical acts. It would be a nice place to take a stroll or walk your dog on a warm city night.

Then there's a small apartment complex with four 1-bedroom apartments with two community lots under it. I created those using threadsandpaper's lot stacking technique. I want to make more of these!

Under the apartments is a small stop-n-go convenient store.

There's also probably going to be a little cafe or something on the community lot beside this. I'm not sure yet :P

Then there's the city library on the main street. It's definitely where a lot of the town funds get funneled into. It was also one of the first row house-style lots I ever built. I'm pretty sure I followed s655's tutorial for this, but I can't remember 100%. Either way you should check out her beautiful videos and lots. :D

The lot beside it is the Mayor's home. I don't know who that is yet. I'm thinking about brainstorming a scheme whereby my sims can "vote" for their city mayor. Or I may just create a sim for the job, or choose based on the first to make that in their career. I guess they'll have to quit the job when another sim rolls (and succeeds) that ltw.

Anyways, it's a pretty large city home with a nice garden to entertain, an office and parlor for business meetings and room for about 5 sims.

That's all that I've got for the urban part of Wrightsberg so far. I have a few more posts I'd like to share and a giant "to build" list I've been meaning to post. I just now discovered lj scrapbook, which I find much easier to navigate than photobucket. Anyways, hope to see you guys around :D
