getting settled

Things are happening around here.

Raquel and I signed a lease for a place in San Francisco on Friday--it's a gorgeous 3 bedroom apartment in Bayview-Hunter's Point with hardwood floors and a huge, bright kitchen. We'll move in gradually over the summer, as we accumulate furniture. For now, we love our sublet in Berkeley, too, and it's fun trying to figure out what the students are like who we sublet from. They have TONS of books, as many as I do, and they're both really into ancient Middle Eastern history. And the beds are SUPER comfortable. Great location too, walking distance to grocery stores and farmers' markets and shops and cafes and everything. It's nice. But we just felt that SF was the place for us, it just felt right.

And we just signed up for a CSA share! So we'll be getting a huge box of fresh organic produce every other week, yum. And the things that are in season now are SO GOOD, like strawberries and peaches and squash and figs...

And oh my gosh, moving and settling is SO EXPENSIVE. Who knew.
