they did...you can see the blade appears to be re-materialized from ice though.

Yeah it did. I'm attributing Shirayuki's rematerialization to the fact that she seems to be calling another attack or property ("Shirafune") out of it.

hrm more chapter info

we also get some more info into her past in that she didn't/doesn't consider her sword technique to be particularly good and that whilst her kidou grades were good that didn't really make up for things.

She wonders if its really ok for her to be there, where is her heart and for just what reason is she there?

Kaien tells her there's one thing you never can do and thats to die alone

he talks about dying in soul society and says that a souls body becomes dust when it dies so he asks her where your heart goes? He says your heart stays with your friends (This is what leads on to her "you might have his body but his heart is with me" thing.)

Kaien says thanks to her he can leave his heart there because he knows it will live on with her.

She uses her third dance shirafune (white sword)

Arroniro is shocked and manages to get out a what was that

Rukia says she remembered where Kaiens heart was and then says goodbye to arroniro.
