I would have hard time suspending disbelief, but it could be interesting.

what part of it do you find hard to believe?

That technology becomes so complex that individuals are unable to understand it at all even if they try. Its the same problem I have with Asimov's Foundation and the Warhammer 40000 universe.

normal indivuduals yes. i personaly dont find it a strecth to think most people could never understand the complexity it would take to build or maintain a sentient ai. or to create some orm of teleportation device. they could be dumbed down enough to be operated but what do you do when it malfunctions?
